About Religious Stuff by Greg
Yes, I did write this myself.

My Insight into religious “Stuff” By Greg

First of all I would like to set some things straight. I do not dislike anybody due to their beliefs, disbeliefs, lifestyles, or their background. I do not care if they are catholic, Baptist, protestant, Jewish, atheist, or if they are undecided. This is not a plea for you to accept my beliefs. It is, in fact, an insight into some things that I have noticed and feel as though I need to share it with all who would listen. My name is Greg, I am married and I live in a small southeast Texas town. I am not a Bible scholar or a theologian. I don’t hold any special degrees or even finished high school. So you know now I am not a “genius” by any stretch of the imagination. I am what you would call “the average Joe”. I go to work, pay my bills; support my family and our pets. I don’t drive a fancy car; I have a 1994 Ford pickup. I don’t live in a fancy home or have fancy stuff. I don’t drink, (used to), smoke, (used to), or go out partying, (yep…used to), Why shucks…I’m even working on the profanity habit…and I am winning! All these things were given up just before I got saved and baptized. My wife and I figure as long as bills are paid, food is available, and we can go out for dinner every once in a while, then things are good. We don’t require the lifestyles of the rich and famous, just of the blessed and highly favored! I am a Christian though. I do not belong to a particular denomination. I believe in God the Father, His Son Jesus, who came to earth in flesh and gave His life for our sins, and the Holy Spirit. I do not believe in “organized religion”. That is any church entity that has their own set of rules you must obey to go there. I believe that all scripture is God breathed and recorded by the people He chose to record it. I don’t think I am right and you are wrong. I don’t think you should think and act the same way I do. I expect I will probably step on a few toes in this, and I am sorry if I do. I don’t mean to offend anyone. I go to a small church in my hometown. It is not fancy by any means, but it is very blessed. I have only been going there less than a year. I guess you may call me a “baby Christian”. I go to the Sunday morning and evening Bible studies and Church services. Between these I go to a nursing home ministry with the church. We have a Tuesday evening open Bible study I go to, then on the last Thursday of each month we have an open Bible discussion that I participate in with questions and answers of scripture. The Pastor and his wife are two of the rarest people I have ever met. These two people are the same whether they are in Gods house or out in the world. They own the church but will tell you that God owns it; they just keep the doors open for Him so that He can send those he wants in to hear them teach and preach. They are not in it for “nickels and noses”, they are in it to win souls for God. They will only teach what is scriptural and straight out of Gods word. They don’t have a huge fancy church, a big congregation, wear designer suits, drive a fancy vehicle, live in a fancy house in the best neighborhood, etc. They are like you and me. They have their times of hardship too. They have full time jobs as well as taking care of the church and their flock. By the way..I do mean take care of their flock. They are always concerned about the welfare of their flock. They have been known to go out of their way physically and financially to help someone out whom needs it with nothing in return expected. This is true for some strangers that they have helped also. We don’t wear fancy suits and dresses in the church. There is no dress code and all are welcome. I think Jesus would fit in wearing his robe. I know a lot of churches that would refuse to let Him in because of his attire; hair, shoes, etc. Okay, enough of this. Now let’s get on with the reason or reasons I wanted to write this. I’m not sure how long this will be so hold on it may be a long ride. I’m writing this as I think of it so I’m not sure how much sense it will make so bear with me please.

First off I would like to ask you a few questions. Are you proud to be an American? And if so, why? I figure that a large percentage of you said “yes”. Then you probably answered “because America is a free country”. Am I right? Well, to me that is dependent on what you consider free. I’m not going to start knocking our great country, so don’t get offended. I also love what our country once stood for and the foundation of principles it was founded on. I bet you got that “once” I put in there. Bear with me, I will get to that. Now here is the question that you will probably say “great..another one of them Jesus freaks”. I figure you will either stop reading and put this down or simply answer it and keep reading so you can either try to get my point, or criticize what may come after the questions. Now, do you believe, I mean really believe in God? I bet you are trying to figure out what the two questions have to do with each other, huh.? Well. Just this; contrary to popular belief, most all of our founding fathers were God fearing men who held the love of God above all other. You will probably read somewhere that they were “Deists”, which in turn means they were Episcopalian. Others were Catholic, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Protestant, etc. The first president of the United States and one of the founders was George Washington. He was a devout Episcopalian and who at his inauguration, took the oath as prescribed by the Constitution but added several religious components to that official ceremony. Before taking his oath of office, he summoned a Bible on which to take the oath, added the words “So help me God!” to the end of the oath, then leaned over and kissed the Bible. And he also said; “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and Bible.” I could give you tons of quotes to check on but I really don’t think it is necessary to put you through all of that. Remember, I said this is wrote in my opinion. To me to be proud of a country that was founded on Christian principles, but not believe in the one it was founded on, doesn’t make sense. Then we let the ones who whine and cry that their rights are being stepped on by MY belief in a God that only teaches us to treat each other with love and kindness and takes Him out of every public, and soon to be private, part of America just flat confuses me. It took only 1 person to get the ball rolling to get God taken out of schools. I won’t say she did it because the Supreme Court actually removed Him. She was just the plaintiff in the case to get “forced prayer’ out of the schools. A lot of you will say that the children can still pray in school, it just can’t be teacher led. I say wrong, in some schools I know of many kids in school were told they couldn’t get together and pray in school. The ladies name was Madalyn Murray O'Hair. She was an atheist and decided she didn’t want her son to pray. In an irony most don’t know about, the son Madalyn tried to supposedly ” protect” from school prayer not only became a Christian, he became a preacher and went on to denounce his mother as evil. I don’t think forced prayer should be in schools. But I believe I should have the time to pray a short prayer with other believers just as we are all allowed to say the Pledge of Allegiance out loud as a group. Then to show further reason why it makes no sense to me is to look at the Great Seal of The United States. The main feature of the reverse side of the Great Seal is a pyramid representing strength and duration. At the top of the pyramid is an eye and the words "ANNUIT COEPTIS" meaning "He has favored our undertakings". The "HE" refers to GOD, and is in reference to the Founding Father's belief that God had favored our Nation and provided providentially for our success during the struggle for freedom. (During the Revolution, prayer was held daily in the halls of the Continental Congress.) At the base of the pyramid are the Roman numerals for the year 1776, the year of our Nation's birth. The scroll at the bottom contains the words "NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM" meaning "A new order of the ages" and referring to the new American era. Then on July 30, 1956 the words "In God we Trust" were designated as our National Motto (Title 36, Chapter 10, §186). Are you still proud to be an American? Does the idea that some religious fanatics got together and made this country what it used to be make you understand that not all Christians are “weak’ or “crazy”. We are not out to overthrow the country, or for that matter any other part of the world. We don’t practice “brainwashing”. By taking away my right to believe in the one who made me, taking away my right to pray in school, and, anywhere else in public and soon private, you are taking away my right to be the person that our founding fathers fought and died to let me be as an American. Isn’t this what Hitler done to the Jews? He also killed them. Wait, that is prophesied in The Bible! (Matthew 24:9) Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you; and Ye shall be hated of all nations for my namesake. (Still think being a Christian is so easy when you know you look forward to this?)So why is it you would restrain my rights and beliefs to force yours on me? You don’t have to pray when I pray. You can sit out on any prayer. Now let’s get on with some more of my questions.

The “big bang theory”. Georges Lemaitre proposed what became known as the Big Bang theory of the origin of the Universe, although he called it his "hypothesis of the primeval atom". About 15 billion years ago a tremendous explosion started the expansion of the universe. This explosion is known as the Big Bang. At the point of this event all of the matter and energy of space was contained at one point. What existed prior to this event is completely unknown and is a matter of pure speculation. This occurrence was not a conventional explosion but rather an event filling all of space with all of the particles of the embryonic universe rushing away from each other. The Big Bang actually consisted of an explosion of space within itself unlike an explosion of a bomb where fragments are thrown outward. The galaxies were not all clumped together, but rather the Big Bang lay the foundations for the universe. Man, this is, to me, ridiculous. First of all doesn’t there have to actually have to be something there to “bang ‘ in the first place? And if not, how can you criticize my belief in God just because you can’t see him. I don’t think anybody was actually there to witness this either, yet billions of people believe in it because a scientist said it was so. My Bible was wrote by people who actually witnessed the miracles that Jesus performed. All the things we see today were prophesied back 2000 years ago and longer in it. You ask how I know it was inspired by God. Who else could tell of the future that far in advance and get it 100% right? I live by faith, and therefore I can believe in a God I cannot see or touch because I feel Him touch my life every single day. Now back to the “big bang”. This occurrence was not a conventional explosion but rather an event filling all of space. Sounds to me like Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. How about you? I know this isn’t exactly proof of the scriptures being right, but there isn’t undeniable proof of scientists being right. I choose to believe what my God had written. Now we come to the whole creation verses evolution thingy. I guess you heard that Darwin “theorized” that we might of came from apes. Man…what a piece of work this turned out to be! Apes! First off, when it comes down to it we are closer to coming from chimps, not apes, according to science. Now, if you take biology in school they give you a dead pig to dissect. They say it is because they have the most humanlike organs and systems of any other creature. Well, shucks, maybe if you believe you came from an ape you better rethink the whole thing. Maybe you came from a chimp, or even a pig! Now I may be wrong, but, the way I see it, when something “evolves’, doesn’t it cease to exist in its former form? Maybe some of the chimps today were humans that decided to “evolve” into chimps! Where is a scientist, I think I’m on to something here!! Seriously, there is no way you are going to convince me that I came from pond scum swimming in some water long ago, let alone some apelike creature whether it was an ape, chimp, gorilla, etc. If you choose to believe this then fine, that is your right. Just tell me what it hurts to teach both the “theory” of evolution along with the “theory” of creation? (I don’t see creation as a theory; just want you to know this!) Whatever we came from it had to be created by something or someone. Just as wherever the heavens and Earth came from, they had to come from something or someone. I choose to believe in my God as the creator of all things. I’m not saying you have to, but I choose to. I don’t know why it is so important for either scientists to be right or for theologians to be right. I really don’t concern myself with the way that a scientist thinks we came to be, how our world was created, or the mating rituals of the gub gub bug. (Not a real bug that I know of!) I think that we waste way too much of our countries money, time, and resources on a lot of junk that doesn’t matter. We spend trillions of dollars on studying some of the stupidest stuff that is really not important. Who cares why an ant lives in a colony and only has 1 job it does, or why a bird in the rainforest only lives in a 1 mile square area? I would rather see studies on how to clean up our world so we can lead healthier lives, or how about finding a way to improve the quality of life for people that aren’t fortunate enough to afford the high cost of medication? Even better, let’s find a way to get rid of more of the toxins that the government lets the big corporations put in all our food, drinks, air, etc. With all the money wasted by the government, we could use it to provide for the welfare of our people instead. O.k., I better get to a new subject now.

So, you think a Christian life is a simple and easy life? Let me take you through a typical day in my life; Well, it is 6:00 am. and the alarm is saying that God has granted me another glorious day on His Earth! I get out of bed only to find that my back and feet don’t think it is such a glorious day. Hmmm…I must have either slept wrong or the wife took a broom to me while I slept. I look at her and she is smiling in her sleep, but I don’t see a broom, so I must have slept wrong. I walk out to the kitchen and get the coffee going, feed the cats, clean litter box, and try to be quiet so I don’t wake my wife. It isn’t that I don’t want to see her this morning, it is just that she is resting so peacefully and I know she needs the rest. Being a wife is a 24 hr. a day job. I jump in the shower to not only get the nights poisons that you sweat out off of me, but also to refresh myself and wake up. With the shower over, I go to my desk and take out my daily devotional to read. Mine is titled “My Utmost for His Highest”. It was given to me by my mom-in-law. I guess she knew I would find God sooner or later! For those of you who do not know it, a devotional is short one-page writing about a topic related to the Christian faith and life. After a prayer I do my morning devotional. I’m not sure if anybody agrees, but to me there are three levels of my praying. Let me explain; There is the aloud prayer. This is a prayer that you pray out loud because it is an important, (All prayer is important, this one is just a little more important to me), one that you really feel the need to ask out loud. Then there is the whispery, mumbled one. This is important but you also know God already knows what you need so you really don’t have to be as specific on what you ask for. It also makes the enemy, (Satan), have to listen more closely because he will try to stop whatever you are asking for favor with. Then there is the quiet prayer. This is the prayer that is just between you and your Lord. The enemy hates this one because he can’t here you and he has no idea what you want favor in. But I think that this is the type of prayer that also makes Satan tell one of his demons to watch you closely all day and night to try and stop the prayer from being answered as easily. After I do my devotional then it is time for coffee and to make a mental schedule of the day, only to fall apart later. Time to go to work. I get in the truck and start for work. I get to the intersection and see a car coming pretty fast and they have the stop sign but looks like they aren’t going to stop. I slow way down and notice it is some guy on his cell phone. He slams on the brakes and barely makes the stop. I look at him and I smile and wave. I guess it must have looked like a mad smile and wave because he either gave me “the finger”, or he wanted to let me know Jesus is in heaven and pointed it out to me. Bless his heart, but I do know which way heaven is. I keep on smiling and proceed to work. I get to the hardware to pick up some supplies I need and end up in an aisle with a couple of contractors that were talking. They are talking about the jobs they are each doing. The one says that his customer called him because he needed a “professional” to install a light for him due to the fact the light must have out smarted the homeowner. At least that is how I took it when he said the homeowner should have been smarter than the light to install it. It must have been a special light too because he called it a d@#n light…or it was going close to water. I guess if you want the special products you put a curse word in front of the name then it makes it a little more special. Then I noticed a couple of young kids with their parents there shopping. The kids didn’t look too thrilled though. One boy said he was tired and his father told the mother to take the kids and their a$$&s to the car and wait for him there. I looked all around but didn’t see a donkeys there…and how would you get one in a car anyway? I just don’t understand how people can’t talk without having to curse. It isn’t like I’m going to listen any better if you scream and/or curse at me. In fact, I’ll probably listen less or walk away. I really don’t need to hear the filth come from their lips. I hope the wash their mouth out before they eat with it. What did people do before cursing to get the point across? Oh yeah, I bet they just told you. On the way to the checkout I see the “professional” light installer again. He is asking the stock boy in the aisle if they carry books on house wiring systems. What a nice guy, must be going to buy the homeowner a book so he won’t have to keep hiring professionals, therefore he will be able to save some money in the future. I get checked out and I arrive at the job. I never quite understood the “pray without ceasing”, (1 thess. 5:17), until I got closer to God. I find myself constantly praying and singing to the Lord in the back of my mind. I guess I can multi-task after all! Not everything goes smooth at work, but God gets me through it. I leave for home and halfway there I see a guy standing by the road with a sign that reads;”will work for food!”. I ask the Lord what I should do knowing he will quicken my heart and let me know. Just then I see a fast food joint across the road from him. Well Lord, I guess you answered me! I stopped and told the guy that if he was really hungry I would take him to the food joint and get him a meal. He said thanks and got in. I took him and bought his meal then left. I got home after all my running, take my shower, and my wife has dinner on the food trays in the living room. We sat down, blessed the food, and started to eat. Next thing I know one of the cats decides that it deserves my food more than I do. It smacks my plate and down on the floor it goes. It scared one of the other cats so bad that it jumps and hits my milk, which falls on a third cat that shoots across the room into the kitchen. There a fourth cat gets spooked by it and comes flying into the living room where it runs through the food on the floor, “spaghetti”, and straight into my lap and up my front across my white shirt. The rest of the night goes pretty much un-eventful though and after the day is over we do another devotional, say our bedtime prayers, and go to bed only to wake up and start it all over again. I bet you thought I was going to have a bunch of trials and mishaps didn’t you? Well, sorry to disappoint you. I didn’t say a Christians life is a life full of nothing but bad things happening all the time. We go through all the stuff you go through, we just shouldn’t get as upset by the enemies attacks because a “prayed up” Christian is always ready for all the enemy can throw at him or her. I didn’t say we never get upset, we just know that we will be attacked by the enemy more so than a non-believer because the enemy knows he already has the non-believer. Now on to another subject.

I feel the need to talk about all the “charismatics”. To be exact, all these “Christian” Pastors, Ministers, Preachers, Reverends, etc. Basically, all those that put themselves either on television, or behind a pulpit and amaze everybody with their presence. These are the ones that kept me away from the whole idea of Christianity to begin with. These people helped me realize why Christians are looked down on. They are loud, brash, self justifying, and a lot of times “holier than thou” people. I would name names but they would sue me in a heartbeat if I ever mentioned a name. I look at my Jesus and see a King of Kings that didn’t own a big fancy home, though He could have. He didn’t wear designer suits, but he could have wore the robes of kings. He didn’t have a big, multi-million dollar church to preach in, but he could have. He didn’t charge thousands of dollars for guest appearances, he preached his sermons for free, to all that would show up and listen. He didn’t have people he paid to cater to his every need and whim. He didn’t wear gold and jewels. His riches were in heaven. He didn’t yell and scream, run up and down the aisles, jump pews, fall down, speak in tongues to impress people in the church. He didn’t dance all around the place, He didn’t drive a luxury vehicle, besides his feet, all he ever used was an donkey. (Yes, I know there wasn’t any automobiles back then, but he didn’t use a fancy wagon either, and they had them!). He didn’t go to the spa, He could have. He didn’t get manicures and pedicures by some big name in town, didn’t care about monetary value, didn’t teach of your “love” offerings giving you financial freedom and prosperity. He said our riches await us in Heaven. In fact look at these scriptures: Jeremiah 9:23-24 (King James Version) 23Thus saith the LORD; Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. 1 Timothy 6:9 (King James Version) 9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. There are more but I think you get the idea. Every time I turn to one of these “charismatics” on television, it is always the same thing. Their sermons consist of little scripture, and a lot of their own words. If their happens to be a scripture, it usually has something to do with finances or prosperity. Some of them don’t even sound like pastors, preachers, etc. They sound more like a religious motivational speaker. You will probably say, “They know their Bible verse by verse though, so they MUST be from God”. Let me explain something, Lucifer, Satan, the Devil, whatever you want to call him, was made by God and was the most beautiful Angel and was called the son of the morning. (Isiah 14:12) He can quote the Bible from front to back. He can give you riches but I consider this buying your soul, because sooner or later he will want your soul in return of it. Just because somebody is wealthy, it doesn’t mean they are blessed by the Lord. There are many ways to get rich. Some of which are greed, not helping others as the Lord says to, but hording it. You can sell your body, rob, steal, and cheat. But take it from the people that follow you or your ministry and then it looks as though God is blessing you. This is where they get to justify the way they live and act. What makes them think they should live and dress better than Jesus, the son of God and Their King? Man, they got some explaining to do! They can say they need the $450.00 designer suits and shoes because they have an appearance they have to present. They need a expensive car, house, jewelry, etc. because God told them to get it to show others what He did for them He will do for you, if you will just give to their ministry. Never mind if you go to the poor house giving, God has a place in Heaven for you. I think this is stealing, and that is just theft in Gods name and that is like slapping God in the face. When have you ever seen one of these people in your home town standing outside a building giving money to help people on the street? They would probably say “we tithe and give to other churches and charities all the time”. Well, let’s see what I think is wrong with this. Their tithes probably go into their own ministry…which is back into their own pockets. If they tithe to another church, then that church probably tithes it back to them sooner or later. If they give to a charity…that is just a tax write off…and I have a problem with the whole writing off your tithes on your income taxes because to me you are using Gods money to get a tax write off therefore you are not really tithing your ten percent, You are using it to get back money at the end of the year. Yes, my wife and I do tithe every Sunday to our church…no I am not bragging…the Lord commands this. No, we do not claim it on our taxes at the end of the year. That is Gods money, if He wants to claim it then so be it, He can. It is as my brother-in-law says;”I can live better on the 90% that I keep than I ever could on the 100%”. You probably are wondering;”so, you give your money to a church. What if they just pocket it, and why does God need money? He isn’t here, He is in Heaven.” Well let me answer that with this; I don’t give the church my money, I give it Gods money that I am merely earning for Him. It is figured in my bills every week so it isn’t a burden in any way. We still live a good life, probably better life, without it. What the Pastor does with the money is between him and God. If he wants to steal from God then he will have to answer for that when they meet. As for the why God needs money, it is to keep the doors of His church open so that all may enter the Kingdom of Heaven by learning of it in His house. Our church also does a lot of side things for the people in it and also who aren’t in it. We have been very blessed to find a church that has been touched by the hand of God. There are a lot of churches out there that are just existing but not going anywhere. If you find a church and want to know if it is a truly blessed church…look at its fruit. I don’t mean its size, or how many people go to it. Gee, Satan took an innumerable amount of the angels with him when he fell from Gods grace, do you think a church can’t be big, fancy, and rich and not be Godly? How gullible are you? I’m talking about standing back and seeing what it does for its community, the people, who it helps and who it turns away. Does it only help others in its ministry? Does it cater to the ones who go there to the point of pampering them just to keep them there? Like, does it let them do things they shouldn’t and look away as not to offend them and lose them, like the BIG tithers? Trust me, some churches know who gives the BIG tithes and love offerings and will bend over backwards to keep them in the church. Do they require or rather you wear a fancy outfit or suit to be there? Jesus wore a robe and sandals, what do you think they would think of Him? I never read a dress code for being in Gods house, in fact even though he was outside God told Moses twice; Exodus 3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Acts 7:33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground. Alright, I think I said about enough for this issue. I am going to wrap it up with just a few more questions and answers and that will be all.

I call this part WHAT IF? I want you to read this preferably at night while at home. If not, then okay, read it anytime you like. Just do me a favor and read it. WHAT IF? I want you to sit back as you read this and have nothing around you to distract you. Don’t stop in the middle of it to go get something, answer the phone, (why not shut it off for a minute or two?), no television, radio, nothing but you and this letter. Now, do you have kids?, a spouse?, girl or boyfriend?, family. Think about them for a minute or two. See their face? Are you smiling and are they smiling back? Now. Look around your surroundings. Hopefully you are home. Remember any special moments you had here? How about the first time you walked through the door with your spouse? The first time you had your kids here? Friends, etc. Good times are great to remember, huh? How about all that stuff you acquired over the years? Some of it is probably junk, some of it is irreplaceable. That nice television, computer, furniture set, nice paintings and pictures. How about that nice vehicle in the yard that you worked so hard to have? That 4-wheeler, boat, camper, the house you live in? That dog, cat, puppy, kitten, any pet. Look at how the sky looks with the clouds in it. The green grass, flowers, trees, kids playing outside. How about all the sounds and smells that take over your senses when you really stop and notice them? The feel of the wind and warmth of the sun on your skin. I call all these things miracles, they came from nothing into being. Now I want you to take a deep breath and let it out. Okay, now think about those you loved or knew that have passed on. Remember their faces? Their smell? Their touch? How they sounded when they talked or laughed? Now see them fade away. They are slowly going from your mind. It is as though they never existed at all. You can’t see them, touch them, smell them, feel them, they don’t exist on this earth anymore. You can’t call them or talk to them. You can’t tell them that one thing you forgot to while they were here. They are no longer! Their lives went like a vapor. They didn’t know when or how it was going to end. No matter how old they were, they were still too young. Oh how short life is! Now I want you to think about this. It is late and you are getting ready for bed. You got almost everything done you needed to do except tell the one you love goodnight because they won’t be home for awhile but you have to get up early so you figure you will just see them in the morning. You get in bed and you fall into a nice restful warm sleep. You are dreaming of walking on the beach, or swimming in the ocean, or maybe there is something else that you consider the perfect dream. Then suddenly the dream stops. It is just darkness all around. No sounds, no smells, no colors, DARKNESS! You will never wake again. Never see the ones you left, Drive that vehicle, Venture outside for a walk, NOTHING! The world will go on but you will not. Your kids and family and friends will go on with their life. Sure, they will go to the grave site once in a while and think about you but that will stop in time. Pretty depressing to know that all your life is done here! I mean, heck, you were born, was raised by your parents till you could do it on your own, left home and made a way in this world for yourself. Worked from the time you got out of school up to the day you died. After working 9 hrs. a day, you got to stay up a couple more hours to rest and eat, then off to bed so you can do it again in the morning. Wow, was your life really that plain? Didn’t you accomplish anything special? Anything for them to remember you by? This sucks! If you don’t believe in God then you have nothing to fear here. You won’t ever know you are dead. You just merely won’t exist anymore! Good thing us Christians were wrong. Won’t we be surprised…but wait…we won’t know either. We will just quit existing too!! Um…Yeh….what is that? Looks like a light of some kind. Looks like it is getting closer. Your kind of worried now. Man, you hope them Christians weren’t right! Who is that!? A man in a beautiful white robe! He has His hand out to you and says “come child.” You take his hand and as you walk you see all these others dressed in white robes too, singing! You walk up to a great throne and see who it is. Of course, you knew all along though, didn’t you? He opens the books that you will be judged according to. You stand there in utter fear. All you can think is, “The scientists said the Bible was fake”. They said we came from a big explosion that created a pool of water that I crawled out of. Then I evolved into a lot of different things to get to a monkey stage. Then from there I evolved into a human being. Science deals in facts God, and you can’t deny the facts. Science denied your existence! They said Your Word was just a bunch of stories handed down through the years. The world said them religious people were crazy and weak. The world said that they wasted their lives on being faithful and leading their “goody two shoes” lives. The world said they were not to be trusted. Now you try to think fast. How can you save yourself now? So here you go: I thought you might exist God. I always asked for your help when I was in trouble. I watched the ten commandments, Left Behind, (the whole series), I watched a few preachers on television, even veggie tales! I helped some people down on their luck. I even went to a church once but it didn’t fit my lifestyle! I sent money to a television evangelist that said you told him that if I sent him a love offering, you would give me prosperity and a reward in Heaven! He quoted your word! He spoke in tongues! Just then you are silenced out of nowhere. No one said anything or touched you, you just couldn’t speak no more. You notice a eerie presence next to you. You aren’t quite sure who or what it is, just that it is. It gives you a very uneasy feeling. You want to run but you can’t move. You can feel it jeering at you, snickering like it knows something you don’t. All you remember it saying, or thinking, you’re not sure which is;” my demons did a good job on this one”! Just then it dawns on you who it is! Your whole body shakes to know. You wonder;”How could an angel that was created so beautiful turn into this hideous creature, with so much hatred in it for me?” You manage to whisper the words;” Why do you hate me so?” The figure only replies;”He created you in His image, I was His favorite until you came to be, He said I had to serve you, to take care of you. The only solace I have is to know many of you will follow me into hell and spend eternity beside me!” Then all of a sudden you hear a loud noise as if it were thunder. And next was silence, a deafening silence.

From here it is up to you to write. God wants to open the books and find all the good works you have done. See the faith you have lived by. You can’t buy your way into Heaven. Luke 18:25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. You can’t get there by faith or works alone, you must have both: James 2:24 You see that people are justified by what they do and not by faith alone. You must be baptized: Romans 6:4 (King James Version) 4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. And you must be saved, accepting Jesus Christ as your savior: Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And here is the reason few will make it: 1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Now do you understand why we hold our Lord so near and dear to our heart? Do you understand how we can have such faith in something we can’t see or touch? You have faith that the oxygen will keep you alive, yet you can’t see it. How does that make you different than us? If you want to know more, please, find a Godly church full of good fruit and visit it. Visit it more than once because sooner or later God will put a message in the Pastors lips just for you to hear. And if you are a Christian already, don’t give up on Him, it is written: James 4:7-9 (New International Version) 7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. I didn’t write this as a plea for you to accept Jesus as your savior.

I didn’t write it to try and “scare” you into a church. I wrote this because I had been sick and in bed for a week straight. I told you before; I am not “holier than thou”. I’m not some kind of “religious fanatic”, I am just merely a man who God took the time while I was sick and showed me a lot of “stuff” I needed to share. He didn’t take me to Heaven or hell and give me a glimpse of either place. He didn’t transport me to the past or the future and tell me some divine secret. He didn’t even show me His face. He just put this in my heart and led me to write it and share it. If you think I’m crazy, then okay, I’m crazy. All I know is every time I call on the Lord, prayers get answered. It may not be in MY time, but if it is His will, it happens. Some prayers I found I was glad he didn’t answer because His results were better than mine could ever be. If you don’t know how to pray, then just follow this: Matthew 6: 1-13 The Model Prayer 5 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Okay, that’s it from me. I hope you got something out of it. I didn’t say it would be “soul moving”. It wasn’t intended to make the earth shake under you, or do anything magical to your life or way of thinking. I said before, I am what you would call “the average Joe.” Nobody special, I was born, I lived, one day I will die. Only thing special about me is I love the Lord with all my heart. My faith in Him grows each and every day. My love for Him no man can control or remove. He is my all in all. Isaiah 40:31 31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Teach me Lord to wait! Amen!
